Valdanos Olive Sunset Experience

The journey begins in front of Dulcigno Travel Agency. After a short introduction from the guide, guests take a short van transfer to Nova Mahala, where the Valdanos olive grove begins. From there, you will walk through the old olive groves, where twisted trunks, stone paths and Mediterranean scents create a landscape full of silence and history.

Along the way, your guide will share stories about olive growing in Ulcinj, traditional family heritage, the importance of Valdanos Bay as a natural shelter, and the connection between land, water and sea.

The walk continues gently down toward Valdanos Bay. Here, the landscape opens toward the sea, creating a beautiful transition from olive groves and spring legends to the calm Adriatic coast.

The central moment of the tour is the storytelling experience inspired by Kroi i Zanave, often translated as the Fairy Spring. In local tradition, springs were never seen as ordinary places. They were symbols of life, purity and mystery. According to legend, the area around the spring was connected with the Zana, fairy-like beings from Balkan folklore who protected water, nature and hidden places.

After the storytelling moment, guests enjoy a small local tasting inspired by the region: olives, cheese, homemade bread, seasonal fruit, water and a refreshing drink.

The experience ends with the most memorable part of the journey, a sunset boat return to Ulcinj. Instead of walking back the same way, guests board a boat in Valdanos and return along the coast as the sun sets over the Adriatic. From the sea, Ulcinj reveals one of its most beautiful views, with the Old Town rising above the coastline.
