Svac Heritage Trail

Step into the cultural heart of southern Montenegro with this immersive day tour from Ulcinj, combining history, heritage, and traditional cuisine.

The tour begins in front of the Dulcigno Travel Agency, where you'll board a comfortable, air-conditioned bus for a short journey (40-50 minutes) to the peaceful village of Draginje.

Here, we visit a unique Heritage House that also serves as a museum, preserving the memory and lifestyle of the region's past. Inside, you'll find rare and authentic exhibits, including traditional tools, garments, household items, and photographs—offering a deep and personal insight into rural life in Ulcinj over the centuries. As part of the experience, guests will also have the opportunity to try an authentic homemade pie, a traditional homemade cake, and locally crafted quince brandy.

From there, we continue by bus (15–20 minutes) to the legendary medieval town of Šas (Svac). Once a flourishing spiritual center, Šas was believed to have 365 churches—one for each day of the year—earning it a sacred status in local folklore and regional history. (Visitors must walk approximately 500–600 meters uphill to reach the site.) Perched high above Lake Shas, the ruins whisper stories of devotion and faith. As you walk among the remains of stone churches and ancient fortifications, you’ll feel the echoes of a town shaped by religion, resilience, and time.

After exploring the site, we descend to the lakeshore for a relaxing and delicious stop at the family-owned Restaurant "Shasi." There, you'll enjoy a traditional Montenegrin lunch made from fresh local ingredients—grilled fish, seasonal vegetables, olive oil, and regional wine, (Your lunch experience includes one complimentary drink.)

At the end of this enriching experience, we return by bus to the starting point in front of the agency, bringing you back to Ulcinj with new memories, tastes, and stories to tell.
